6-day Mardi Himal package itinerary from Kathmandu (KTM) involves travel to and from Pokhara, the starting point for the trek, followed by the trek itself. This plan is achievable for those with moderate fitness and offers stunning mountain views.
An early morning drive by tourist bus or private vehicle from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The scenic drive takes approximately 6-8 hours. Overnight, accommodation is reserved at a Hotel in Pokhara.
After breakfast, a short drive (1-2 hours) from Pokhara to Kande, the trek's starting point. From Kande, you'll trek through villages and rhododendron forests, passing Australian Camp and Pothana, to Forest Camp (approx. 5-7 hours walking).
Altitude: 2,600m (8,530ft)
Overnight: Teahouse in Forest Camp.
Continue ascending through the dense forest, which eventually gives way to a more open, rugged alpine landscape as you climb above the treeline. The views of the Annapurna range become more prominent (approx. 4-6 hours walking).
Altitude: 3,580m (11,745ft)
Overnight: Teahouse in High Camp.
Wake up early for the highlight of the trek: a hike to the Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) for panoramic sunrise views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. After soaking in the views, descend back down to Low Camp (approx. 7-8 hours total walking).
Altitude: 4,500m (14,763ft) at Base Camp; stay overnight at Low Camp (3,150m/10,334ft)
Overnight: Teahouse in Low Camp.
Descend from Low Camp to the traditional village of Siding, following a different route to complete a circuit. From Siding, a shared or private jeep will drive you back to Pokhara (approx. 6-7 hours walking and 2-3 hours driving).
Overnight: Hotel in Pokhara.
After breakfast, take a tourist bus or private vehicle back to Kathmandu, concluding your 6-day package.
